Head Sound’s ‘Home’: A Dreamy Escape into Shoegaze

New York-based music band Head Sound has released a new song named “Home”. Despite being a beautiful and uplifting dream-pop track, the band incorrectly labeled this song as explicit. The band is trying to fix this mistake. The band members are Stewbie (vocals and guitar), Richard (vocals and lead guitar), Aiden (bass), and Phil (drums). They work together to create their unique sound. The members of Head Sound started playing music together a few years ago because they wanted to make songs louder than the noise in local bars and cafes. Famous bands like My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, and Sigur Ros inspired them. Local radio stations WEXT and WEQX now play unique sounds, aiding their recognition.

Here’s a humorous tale about Head Sound, during the recording process, Phil, the drummer, repeatedly played the tambourine, exhausting and nearly injuring his arm. The band members are also working on two other music projects, one is a mix of dreamy and American-style music, and the other is a mix of strong, spacey rock music. These projects can be a unique and intriguing way to start and end their shows. People are praising Head Sound for their distinctive musical style. One reviewer said they’re brave and willing to try new things, while Phil’s grandpa compared their music to a beautiful Monet painting.

The band recorded their song “Home” in Phil’s parents’ basement, doing most of the work themselves with some help from friends. Richard took charge of producing, mixing, and finalizing the track. The band Slowdive inspired the song “Home”, which conveys a message of hope. Each band member recorded two parts for the song, making it sound full and layered. Richard says their music has catchy vocals, sophisticated melodies, and bold and hypnotic instrumentation. Sam, the sound engineer, and Richard’s brother like the song’s “ambient grit”,  meaning it has a rough but atmospheric sound.
