“Moonfactory” by Hyde Out: A Bold, Melodic Fusion of Sound and Emotion

Moonfactory is Hyde Out’s latest release that combines a unique blend of classic and new sound, reflecting their versatility and growth as a band. The band’s gentle melodic side seems to come back a little in this album since Moonfactory contains elements of pop rock, 80s electronic, folk, and whatnot. The album has thoughtful lyrics paired with ingenious music that combines various genres and showcases Hyde Out’s ability to write well-rounded songs. Hyde Out captures a different mood with each of their following tracks. “Only Words” is an ear-catching pop-rock song adorned with catchy hooks and deep lyrical themes regarding the duality of words. Meanwhile, the “Games We Play” sound is much more upbeat and features lively electronic beats with a pop sound and 80s elements. This song is an industry pop that balances the playful aspects of a romantic relationship with the darker undertones, offering a fun yet complex experience. The song “Firefly” captures the lance of many moments, providing a highlight for the album. The beautiful shimmering music recreates the charming glimmer of a firefly. This voice is impressive and addictive, and it composes this song that remains in a person’s mind for an extended period after it’s being listened to: Hyde Out has done it again. “Powder-coated Penguin in Undisclosed Location” is no less eccentric and brilliantly extends how far Hyde Out is willing to go with their sound. For the first time, this unusual track slightly departs from the serious note of the duo with its upbeat rhythm and a somewhat enigmatic feel. As if the song’s offbeat style allows fans to be more imaginative with the entire album, so it is.

The album embraces a bittersweet quality with the music, as expressed in the song “Another Life”, which contains both nostalgia and wistfulness. The song’s lyrics engage with the concept of envisioning the different things that could happen in one’s life, while the tunes are much more optimistic. Then, “Bring On” does a complete turnaround in terms of energy by being upbeat and having a solid beat with a catchy or memorable chorus that motivates the audience. Such varied tracks further prove Hyde Out’s promise of an album that has plenty of emotion and exploits several different genres. You cannot often listen to “Cityscape 49”, which is beautiful and picturesque, though atmospheric, and represents what it is like to be in a city at night. The unmoving, dreamy movement and timing synch with the rest, giving the audience a feeling of what it’s like to be enveloped by a gorgeous city after hours. This gives a beautiful instrument a fitting touch and adds another layer to the album, urging the listener to dream further and immerse themselves in the environment. The album drastically changes again within its dynamics with “Kryptonite”, a strongly constructed piece with heaviness and emotional lyrics that would seem uncharacteristic to lighter songs on this album. Its rich and dynamic strikes are undoubtedly alluring. However, it is then that “Go High” changes the scene with high-flying vocals along with a message to uplift and take people to the point of victory and hope, which is a beautiful transition to the album’s last song.

The album’s last song is titled “Oblivious (Reprise)”, which is the album’s previous track, but in our opinion, offers a fresh new twist. This contemplative conclusion is an excellent way to conclude the album, as the listeners have gone through so many aspects, so it can safely be said that everything has come back to its roots in a way. It is an intelligent and subtle conclusion in that a message is likely left in the listeners’ minds. Hyde Out’s tongue-in-cheek ode titled Moonfactory put forth the band’s innovative artistry. Achieving a blend of sounds and influences, they have created a recognizable and subversive voice track with its viewpoint, from the turmoil of words to normal jingles and loud cries. The album Moonfactory opens up opportunities for confidence and progressive growth while being themselves, and therefore – the identification of such an insane and audacious group. Music lovers who appreciate good lyrics and well-thought-of music will love this album. It is a very varied album full of great songs where genre nemesis expects a range. This record is unique because of its curves, showcasing how versatile the ideas presented in the record slowly and elegantly meshed together.
