“Love.exe” – When Heartbreak Meets the Cloud

Glitch Amour’s album ‘Love. Exe’ is built to fit like a digital tale that’s playful and very emotional. She labels it “digital heartcore”. The play menu guarantees zero loading time. The first track, “Je t’aime.corrupted” is soft, ghosted sighs that freeze and stutter, zip compressed but never properly unzipped so the heart-buffer keeps buffering. Then comes “Bubblegun Heart”, a sugar-sherbet cyclone of spinning neon beats. “404: Emotions Not Found” feels more maudlin, of emotions left unopened in the digital realms.

“Glitch Kiss” restarts the love window; sprites rebound like memories caught in a scroll-less loop. The middle of the record sinks into the album’s quiet ache. “Delete My Feelings” pools regret amid a stoned bass drop, the kind you’d imagine as lying beneath some half-heartedly kept diary pages. “I Kissed Your Ghost in My DMs” dispenses with pretense and gets right to the haunting, autotuned lines wafting in and out like ghostly notifications. “Pixel Tears” takes the late-night vibe a step further, shimmering with pixel-fine sensitivity that captures only the secrets you whisper into your monitor.

“Softboy.exe” swipes once to the left on misery, a sweet little fun at online Love while still admitting how much it hurts. The closing track, “Hyperheart Crash”, is full of the kind of distorted beats that make it sound like riffs on the Internet breaking apart its fun, too. ‘Love.exe’ slowly wipes the screen to a milky glow, leaving you with a procedurally-generated goodbye. Glitch Amour reveals more than surface fireworks, murmuring about how the brightest loss is accountable to megabytes’ worth of feeling you’d like to think can stick around.
