OPCRITICAL- USA

OpCritical’s “USA” doesn’t try to ease you in gently, it throws you straight into the noise, confusion, and tension that define its message. The song feels like a reaction to a world turned upside down, where nothing quite makes sense anymore. Lines about chaos and contradiction land hard, but what really sticks is the sense that this isn’t just observation, it’s frustration boiling over. At the same time, there’s an undercurrent of determination, as if the band is refusing to let that chaos have the final word.

What makes “USA” especially compelling is how unpredictable it sounds. One of the song’s most striking moments comes when the band delivers the line, “we living in a crazy place, don’t like what I see, what a disgrace,” a blunt and memorable lyric that perfectly captures the frustration and disorientation at the heart of the track. It shifts between rock, punk, and grunge without losing momentum, then suddenly leans into trap rhythms that give it a modern edge. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, an Arabic-style vocal melody cuts through, adding a completely different texture. That contrast shouldn’t work as well as it does, but somehow it pulls everything together, making the song feel as layered as the issues it’s addressing.

The music video leans fully into overload, packing in imagery, slogans, and rapid-fire visuals that reflect the same sense of disorder found in the lyrics. It’s intense and, at times, overwhelming but that seems intentional. Instead of offering a polished narrative, it mirrors the feeling of living in a constant stream of headlines and opinions. Still, through all that noise, the message comes through clearly: don’t tune out, don’t give up, and don’t stay silent.

Following the success of their debut “Not Alone,” OpCritical is carving out a space that’s less about who they are and more about what they stand for. “USA” reinforces that identity with confidence. It’s not a comfortable listen, and it’s not meant to be. But that’s exactly why it works—it challenges, provokes, and ultimately pushes listeners to think a little harder about the world around them.
