The lead epilogue of the musical extension is that Coma Beach is celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of their first album, The Scapegoat’s Agony. The five-cut collection of songs evokes feeling and self-reflection; a combination of fans are sure to appreciate. Beginning the collection is “Passion”, their sophomore album’s original track but in a shortened form. “Passion” digs deep into the emotional serenity of people while relaying a song filled with sorrow. The passionate feel and raw grit within mental instrumentals create a whole new meaning to the song. What a strong start to an EP!

Yosemite Unplugged finds its sound with a theme-bound hodgepodge of an apocalyptic world shackled in relentless cycles. “Bliss” follows the launch of Parting Circle by Humanbeast Unscathed. Bliss trues with layered guitar riffs that will have you on the edge of chills. Antihero’s fragmented state of mind is showcased while inducing a sense of unease that creates a surreal tonothurst.
Some harsh vocals are thrown in to truly set the recessions of darkness within one’s mind. “Astray (Fallen Angel) – Radio Edit” tells a wonderful sonic story filled with grief, whilst being more polished. The world keeps rushing vigorous head changes one imagines after getting lost.

“Nothing Right – Original Version – Radio Edit”, captures the energy of the band’s punk rawness and makes it very aggressive. The constant harshness of the vocals, in conjunction with the fast pace,, makes the whole listening experience a therapeutic one. The ep closes with, “The Final Door – Radio Edit”, which is the most reflective track and has a feeling of looking back while saying goodbye. The rest of the song is at a slower tempo and the tune is quite sad, which makes the whole piece memorable – thus wrapping the trilogy magnificently. In ‘Passion/Bliss’ Coma Beach demonstrates how one can create extremely powerful music whilst addressing issues that require a deeper reflection. Every track brings something new to the table; thus, it is pleasant for the listeners of punk and alternative rock.
