Listening to LIQUID.LATEX.DISCO.DADDY. by The New Citizen Kane feels like walking into a completely different world from his earlier work. It’s darker, moodier, and a lot more immersive. Instead of bright, open sounds, everything here feels closer, deeper—like it’s meant for late nights rather than daytime listening.
What stands out right away is how natural it all feels. The beats don’t try too hard, but they stay with you. The basslines have this smooth, almost elastic quality, and the overall sound just flows. It’s the kind of album you don’t skip through, you let it play because the mood matters as much as the individual tracks.

You can tell there’s a real connection between Kane and Red Man Runs. The opening track, “WHAT’S HIS NAME?”, sets everything up in a simple but effective way. “(TRIP) UNRAVELLING” is probably one of the most memorable moments, not because it’s flashy, but because it feels honest. The collaboration with DJ DUTY adds something different without feeling out of place.
Then there’s the take on Sheryl Crow’s “There Goes the Neighborhood,” which might surprise people. It’s different, maybe even a bit strange at first, but it works within the album’s tone. By the end, it doesn’t feel like a remix project at all, it feels like a fully formed piece of work with its own identity.
