RONNUE – IF ALL THE MIXES

Ronnue’s If All the Mixes EP comes across like a personal reset more than just another release. You can tell this is someone who stepped back, looked at what’s happening in music right now, and decided to go in a completely different direction. Instead of chasing trends, he leans into live instrumentation and lets the groove do the talking. The main track from In My Unk Era has that easy, natural bounce to it—nothing feels forced, and that’s what pulls you in.

What I like most is how unpredictable it feels without being all over the place. Ronnue blends R&B, funk, pop, rock, and even a bit of new wave, but it doesn’t sound like he’s trying to prove anything. It just sounds like what he was feeling at the time. That freedom gives the EP personality. The different mixes aren’t just slight edits either—they actually shift the mood, so depending on which version you land on, the song can hit a little differently.

The live elements make a big difference here. You can hear the character in the trumpet, the looseness in the guitar, and the warmth in the keys. It gives the track a pulse that’s hard to fake. Ronnue handling most of the creative side himself also helps keep things consistent. His vocals sit comfortably in the mix—nothing too flashy, just right for the vibe he’s building.

This feels like an artist getting back to basics and enjoying the process again. If All the Mixes isn’t trying to sound like what’s on the charts, and that’s exactly why it stands out. It’s got replay value, it feels genuine, and more importantly, it actually sounds like someone made it, not a formula.
