ANTOIN GIBSON – THE RISE AND FALL OF ETERNITY

The concepts of existence, death, and the possibility of life after death form the central theme of Antoin Gibson’s The Rise and Fall of Eternity, a five-track EP which looks at some of the most difficult questions facing humanity. The project, which was released on October 9, 2026, goes beyond normal storytelling by considering issues of identity, consciousness, and the effects of humanity’s self-destructive behaviour. Instead of providing clear answers, the album constructs a narrative around two different views of eternity, thus allowing for uncertainty and individual interpretation.

Introduction titled ‘Unexplained’ lays the foundation for a journey into introspective hip-hop and creates a reflective atmosphere for the questions that come afterwards. The piece ‘Pandora’s Paradox’ brings in a sense of uncertainty and its consequences, and ‘Dystopian Empress’ directs focus on humanity’s destructive instincts by means of a theatrical approach. Each track offers an additional point of view to the evolving narrative, so that the EP develops as a unified experience instead of merely a set of unrelated songs.

“Mirrors Behind the Smoke” is characterised by dark electronic textures and a growing sense of discomfort, as it deals with uncomfortable realities that lie beneath the surface of appearances; the serious atmosphere of the work matches its exploration of human nature and the difficulty of facing truths which remain uncertain. The EP ends with “Fortune Favours the Timeless” and shifts towards a contrasting folk-inspired style. This change in style widens the emotional range of the narrative, focusing on mortality, consciousness, and eternity without forcing a clear conclusion.

Together with its five-track digital version, The Rise and Fall of Eternity develops its conceptual world through a photographic storybook and by including a sixth piece, ‘Shroud of the Obsidian Veil’, which is available only on vinyl. The extra track provides another viewpoint of the main narrative and keeps the possibilities concerning existence after death open to interpretation. This broader presentation reinforces the project’s status as a coherent artistic experience. Gibson ends with questions rather than answers, thus making the EP an exploration of humanity’s desire to understand what may lie beyond the boundaries of existence.
