WE ARE TO BLAME – OMEGA ORIGIN

With their album “Omega Origin”, the Swedish alternative melodic metal band We Are To Blame enter a more expansive creative domain in which melody and heaviness are constantly in dialogue. The album, which came out on September 18, 2026, fuses heavy riffs with atmospheric production, progressive features, electronic elements and symphonic textures. It features clean vocals together with growls and screams, and large, chorus-driven hooks give the songs a strong sense of scale. The group’s capacity to switch between these contrasting styles gives the album a unique character at the same time as maintaining its roots in melodic metal.

The darkness associated with “Omega Origin” is directly linked to its main idea, that of “the beginning of the end”. While the album depicts a world characterised by turmoil, uncertainty and struggle, it doesn’t stop there; hope and resilience are still essential elements, producing a contrast between destruction and the possibility of rebuilding. It is this which gives the record a thematic focus linking its more sombre atmosphere with a more hopeful viewpoint.

The production of the album allows each of its various parts to have an effect. The heavy riffs give the music a solid presence, the atmospheric layers widen the overall space, electronic and symphonic features add more colour to the sound, and the shift from clean vocals to more aggressive sections produces additional contrast. The large choruses also bring about a sense of immediacy and provide the album with a strong melodic foundation even when the heavier parts are dominant.

“Omega Origin” is a major development of the musical direction that We Are To Blame established on their “Altar” EP. The album has a deliberate emphasis on contrast between darkness and hope, aggression and melody, and atmosphere and impact. Instead of narrowing the band’s identity down to just one aspect of their sound, the record combines all these different elements into a unified full-length work. It gives We Are To Blame a wider musical range and a clear sense of direction.
